DIT Fashion Management Students in Paris for world’s premier fabric show
Students from DIT’s Postgraduate Diploma in Fashion Buying & Management travelled to Paris last week to attend Premiere Vision - the world's premier fabric show. Held every year the show attracts thousands of visitors from within the fashion industry to view the latest fabrics and fashion collections from over 700 weavers from around the world. The DIT students had the opportunity to shadow fashion buyers as they sought fashion trends for Spring/Summer 2013.
In addition the students were giving the opportunity to attend a workshop on luxury retail branding at the Sorbonne Graduate Research School (or IAE Paris) of the Pantheon-Sorbonne University, Paris. Dr Delphine Dion, Head of the Master’s programme in Marketing & Retailing and an expert on luxury retailing hosted the visit and presented her recently published work in this area. As part of the visit DIT fashion buying students also made group presentations at the Sorbonne Graduate Research School on luxury brands including Chanel, Marc Jacobs and Louis Vuitton.
