PhD candidate awarded ‘Best Newcomer Article’
The Editorial Board of The Journal of Poverty and Social Justice have awarded the ‘Best newcomer article 2011’ to Bernie O’Donoghue Hynes (with Noirin Hayes) for:
O’Donoghue Hynes, B. & Hayes, N. (2011). Who benefits from early childcare subsidy design in Ireland? Journal of Poverty and Social Justice, 19(3), 277-88.
The Editorial Board commented that the article offers a strong mix of an empirical base and a strong theoretical background. It analyses the way in which more powerful groups may be able to benefit from more universal measures, against the pitfalls of more targeted approaches.
Bernie O’Donoghue Hynes is a PhD candidate at the School of Social Sciences and Law.
